"One Country, One Card" scheme re-launched in Coimbatore after rectifying technical glitch

Coimbatore:District administration officials said, "One Country, One Card" scheme has been re-launched in Coimbatore after rectifying technical glitch.

The central government is implementing a "One Country, One Card"scheme across the country. The project was also implemented in Tamil Nadu but due to a technical glitch, there was a delay in the distribution of ration items to the public and the project was temporarily suspended across the state.

Now the technical glitch has been fixed and the server speed for ration shops across Tamil Nadu has been increased. The scheme was re-implemented in a few taluk - wise shops in Coimbatore on a trial basis for the last few days. Following the success of the pilot run, the scheme was re-implemented in 1,420 ration shops in the district.

District administration said, "According to the scheme, it is required that any one member registered in the ration card can come to the ration shop. Ration items will be delivered using their fingerprint on the biometric machine. This prevents the public from using another's ration card to buy goods. Now that the server speed has been increased, items can be purchased in 3 minutes."
