Coimbatore: Police are now in the search for the robbers who snatched chains from women in two separate incidents in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: Police are now in the search for the robbers who snatched chains from women in two separate incidents in Coimbatore.

In the police report it is said that "Pushpa (58) w/o Krishnamoorthy is a resident of Iyyasamy layout in Kempatty Colony, Coimbatore. Pushpa who was walking infront of her house around 10 pm was attacked by two masked robbers who came in a pulsar bike.

They snatched the chain worth around 4 sovereigns. The robbers is saud to have fled the scene. A complaint has been registered at the Periyakadai street police station and the police are now investigating the CCTV footage of the locality for more clues.

In an another incident in Sundarapuram, Coimbatore, Rajaselvi (50) w/o Ponraj reside in the housing unit near Kurichi.

Yesterday while returning from the Madukarai market, Rajaselvi was attacked by two robbers who came in a motorcycle who snatched her 7 sovereign chain. Rajaselvi who was terrified by this incident, holded on to the chain and fought against the robbers.

Unable to get the chain, Rajaselvi pulled out the 2 sovereign chain while the robbers fled ejth the 5 sovereign chain. The police department have filed a case regarding the snatching case abd are further investigating it.

With a rise in chain snatching incidents from women in Coimbatore these two seperate incidents have created panic in the area.
