Swearing in ceremony of new soldiers held in Madras Regiment Center in Coonoor

Coimbatore: At the Madras Regiment Center in Wellington, Coonoor, Nilgiris, 60 young soldiers were sworn in today and sent to the country's border for security under the command of Deputy Commandant BN Naik.



Coimbatore: At the Madras Regiment Center in Wellington, Coonoor, Nilgiris, 60 young soldiers were sworn in today and sent to the country's border for security under the command of Deputy Commandant BN Naik. At the Wellington Army Camp near Coonoor, military training is being provided for youth from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka after which the trainees will be sent to work in army camps in the border areas of India.



The swearing-in ceremony of 60 soldiers, who had undergone 46 weeks of training, took place today. At the end of the training, the soldiers took the oath on the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible, the Quran books and the national flag with salt.



Deputy Commandant BN Naik, who was present at the event, praised the young soldiers for achieving the highest quality training. He also lauded the efforts of the Madras Regiment Center to provide quality training to young Indian soldiers. He complimented and congratulated everyone who worked very hard in the situation.

He also congratulated the families of the soldiers who were unable to attend this special event due to COVID-19. He further said that the trained soldiers will be sent to the battalions allotted to them.

The event was attended by many high-ranking officers, junior officers, military personnel and training academy teachers.
