Coimbatore: Thieves pretending to look for rental house snatch 10 sovereign jewellery from two women.
Kuppusamy's wife Rukumani (age 80), is a resident of Anna street near Karamadai in Coimbatore district. When she was standing in front of her house yesterday a 35-year-old man on a motorcycle approached her and asked her if any house was available for rent. While the woman was answering in the blink of an eye, the man snatched the 5 sovereign gold chains that Rukumani wore and fled on a motorcycle.
Shocked by this the elderly woman lodged a complaint with the Karamadai police. Police have filed a case and are looking for a man who pretended to look for a house to rent and snatched a 5 sovereign gold chain from the elderly woman.
Similarly, Sakthivel, who is from Muthu Nagar near Eachanari, runs a grocery shop in the area. His wife Rathi Kala, 42, was walking to a temple near her house on the day of the incident when two men on a motorcycle snatched a 5-sovereign gold chain that she wore. Rathikala lodged a complaint with the Podanur police. Police have filed a case and are looking for the men who snatched the chain.
