Coimbatore: Farmers have welcomed the Agriculture Amendment laws that eliminates brokers: BJP state agriculture team leader.

At the BJP office in Coimbatore, BJP state agriculture team leader GK Nagaraj told reporters that Modi who is a friend of farmers in Tamil Nadu has planned an intensive campaign for a week from the 15th on the new agricultural law. Union ministers are expected to attend the campaign and meet farmers directly to explain the benefits of the new agrarian law.

He said rallies are also planned to be held at 5 important places in Tamil Nadu to explain the benefits of agricultural laws. He added that, "The minimum support price for 17 products has been fixed since the BJP government took over. The minimum support price has been raised by 2.4 times for paddy, 1.77 times for wheat, 75 times for cereals and 10 times for oilseeds. In Tamil Nadu, the purchase of coconut copra was Rs. 52 per kg in 2013 and now the minimum reference price is Rs. 99.60. It is a fact that agricultural schemes without brokers have been well received by the farmers."
