Worker's body found near Coimbatore


Coimbatore: The incident in which the deadbody of a worker was recovered in the Kannampalayam area has caused a stir.

The body of 55-year-old man was found near the Kannampalayam pirivu next to Sulur yesterday. Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The body was identified as Arumugam 55, of Madurai district, who worked as a construction worker.

Arumugam had been drinking in the same area with friends the day before yesterday and his friends left him there when he was under the influence of alcohol. It was revealed that an unidentified vehicle coming from the area hit him and killed him on the spot. This was confirmed by the Sulur police who examined the CCTV footage, the police have registered a case as an accident and are investigating the vehicle which caused the accident that led to loss of life.
