Makkal Neethi Maiam welcomes actor Rajini's political arrival - Pollachi State Vice President Mahendran.
Coimbatore: Gearing up for the upcoming 2021 State Assembly Elections, Makkal Needhi Maiam's (MNM) Vice President Dr. R. Mahendran met with party's executive commitee members at a private hall in Mahalingapuram in Pollachi, on Thursday.
Executive committee members from Pollachi, Valparai, Udumalai, Madathukulam and other areas took part in the meet in which Kamal Haasan, President of MNM interacted with the members through video conferencing.
Addressing the members, Dr. Mahendran discussed on strategies and ground work for the upcoming state assembly elections.
Later, at the event, Saranya, a 2nd year MA Tamil student from Nedunkundru tribal village in Valparai was awarded a scholarship.
Following this, Dr. R. Mahendran met with the reporters and informed that MNM welcomes the political entry of actor Rajinikanth. He noted that there is always a place in MNM for honest politicians who believe in change and serving the people.
When questioned on alliance, he said the party will make an announcement close to the elections. Dr. Mahendran also apprised on Kamal Haasan's campaign which starts this Sunday, from Madurai.
"Party head, Kamal Haasan will be rallying across several districts in Tamil Nadu in the next 20 days", he added.
