Premkumar, a mentally affected resident of Ondipudur area tried to commit suicide by jumping from the telephone tower near his home at midnight yesterday.
The Periyanaickenpalayam police department who was intimated regarding the incident, arrived at the scene immediately with the fire department rescue team and helped in the safe recovery of Premkumar by distracting him and talking to him. Premkumar was then admitted at the government hospital for treatment.
