2 youths arrested for attacking police in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: 2 youths arrested for attacking police. 2 youths were drinking in a car on RS Puram Road, Coimbatore. Policeman Ramesh Kumar (age 40), who was on duty at the RS Puram police station, patrolled the area last night.
The policeman had then warned the youth who were drinking on the roadside in a car and told them to leave. But the youth refused to leave and got into an argument with the police. The enraged youth strangled policeman Ramesh Kumar and assaulted him.
Following this, Ramesh lodged a complaint with the RS Puram police. Police filed a case and arrested 2 youths. The investigation revealed that they were Arunkumar (29) from the same area and Ganesan (36) from the Pappanaickenpalayam. They were arrested on charges for obstruction of duty by a civil servant.
