Why people-elected MP PR Natarajan is not been invited for government functions? CPM questions District Administration

Coimbatore: District Committee of Marxist Communist Party (CPM) has raised question to the district administration, as to why the sitting MP PR Natarajan of CPM is not been invited to take part in government functions.

Coimbatore: District Committee of Marxist Communist Party (CPM) has raised question to the district administration, as to why the sitting MP PR Natarajan of CPM is not been invited to take part in government functions.

In a press statement, District Secretary of CPM Ramamurthy said MP PR Natarajan is constantly been ignored for attending State and District functions because he belongs to the Marxist party.

He alleged that these days the district administration has been even refraining from printing invitations for government functions. This only raises doubts if its done to find a reason to avoid printing the CPM MP's name. While, it is mandatory to print the MPs name in invitations and invite him for events, the district administrations has repeatedly ignored him.

Questioning on why there was a second Bhoomi pooja for the Avinashi flyover on Thursday, CPM District Secretary recalled that the ceremony for the Avinashi Road flyover was already held in Chennai with the participation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. And, again the same ceremony was repeated for the sake of Minister SP Velumani, on Thursday.

"It only makes us feel dubious, if the district administration is taking initiative to promote the ruling party. The Avinashi road flyover launch was purely held to promote Minister SP Velumani. While the people elected MP was not invited for the event, an ex-MP of BJP, their alliance party was invited. It was more of a political alliance gathering rather than a public event", he alleged.

"On behalf of CPM, we would like to highlight to the District Collector that ignoring a Member Of Parliament elected by the people of this city at government functions is condemnable and against the interest of the people. Hence, we would like to point to the district administration to be mindful and give due respect to an elected MP and people", he told in the statement.
