Coimbatore: Corporation Officials and Minister for Rural Development and Municipal Administration SP Velumani inspected the flood prone areas of Kuniyamuthur located in the Southern Zone of Coimbatore district.
Coimbatore: Corporation Officials and Minister for Rural Development and Municipal Administration SP Velumani inspected the flood prone areas of Kuniyamuthur located in the Southern Zone of Coimbatore district.
Over a few days of continuous rains has filled up the fields and land around major localities in Kuniyamuthur like Sengulam, Sundakamuthur main road, Ganga Nagar, JP Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Vetrithirunagar and Adithya Garden causing trouble for people living in the surrounding neighborhood.
After visiting the resident quarters which are filled up with rain water, Minister SP Velumani has ordered the corporation officers to conduct immediate methods (motors and generators) to drain the flooded rainwater immediately.
Post his visit in the flood zone, Minister SP Velumani also met with the residents of Lakshmi Nagar who requested for water connection in their area. Minister SP Velumani also ordered the municipal officers to take the necessary measures to fulfill this request immediately.
Later Minister SP Velumani (ministry of rural development and municipal administration) inaugurated the bhoomi pooja for rainwater harvesting plan which collects the excess rainwater into the canal which helps the residents of Adithya Garden and Kurinji Nagar.
During this occasion Corporation Commissioner P. Kumaravel, Private Officer EAF Pandian, Corporation Assistant Commissioner S. Madurandhagi, Corporation Engineer Lakshmanan, Assistant Commissioner to the South Zone TR Ravi were present along with assistant engineers and Health Department Officials.
