Coimbatore: The Sulur Police recently nabbed a gang of robbers from Andhra Pradesh who were renting houses in Pappampatti and Karumathampatti areas near Sulur and trading fake gold bars.

DSP Suryamoorthy highly commended the Sulur police for busting the gang who deceive the public by trading fake gold biscuits.
Addressing the media, the DSP told that house owners in the area are instructed to obtain and verify government documents of the tenants like Aadhaar card, Voters card before renting the house. Warning that there was every possibility of anti-social activities by unidentified tenants, like robbery, he insisted the house owners near Karumathampatti, Sultanpet and surrounding areas to be vigilant.
Similarly, he urged the public to report to police, if someone lures them to sell gold coins or bars luring at attractive cost. The public should immediately report to the nearest police station or dial 100, the DSP said.
When residents are leaving to out of stations for prolonged period, they can inform to the local police station for safety, he added.
