Coimbatore: DMK MLA Karthik requested the AIADMK governmentnot to start flyover work on Avinashi Road while still the Trichy Road flyover work is unfinished.
Coimbatore Singanallur DMK MLA Karthik inspected the overbridge works being carried out on Coimbatore Trichy Road yesterday.
Speaking to the reporters he said, "All construction work on the Trichy road is progressing at snail's pace. Traffic congestion on a daily basis on the Trichy road is due to the fact that the construction of the bridge takes place during working hours. Overbridge work is underway without any security measures being taken."
On knowing that flyover work on Avinashi Road is about to start he said that the Avinashi flyover should not be started without completion of the Trichy road overbridge. District General Committee members Nachimuthu, Metal Mani, Udayakumar and many others were present during the inspection.
