Coimbatore: Weaver arrested for attacking wife with a sickle. Loganathan (age 57) from Ram Nagar in Sirumugai, Mettupalayam. He is married to Vasanthi (46) and has a son and a daughter. Both husband and wife were weavers.

They both had been fighting frequently. Yesterday Loganathan came home drunk and suddenly he got into an argument with Vasanthi. This again led to a quarrel between the two. Angered by this Loganathan scolded her and took the sickle that was there and attacked her. She was seriously wounded in this. Shocked by this, the neighbors rescued her and admitted her to Mettupalayam Government Hospital for treatment. Vasanthi then lodged a complaint with the Sirumugai Police. Police registered a case under Section 307 and arrested Loganathan and remanded him in custody.
