Coimbatore: The Anamalai police are on the lookout for a 49-year-oldan man who allegedly abducted a minor girl near Pollachi. Veeramuthu is a resident of Anaimalai, Marappakavundanputhur, MGR Puthur, Madurai Veeran Kovil Road of Coimbatore district. He along with his 17-year-old daughter and son went to celebrate Deepavali on November 13 to his mother-in-law's house in Manakadal. Leaving his daughters there, he returned home on the 17th after the festival.
On the morning of the 24th, his mother-in-law contacted Veeramuthu on his cell phone and said that his daughter was missing. While the entire were searching for the missing girl, Arun, an auto driver in the Meenatchipuram area of Chemmedu, said that his daughter had gone along with Karuppasamy (49), a farm labourer in Chemmedu.
Following this, Veeramuthu lodged a complaint at the Anaimalai police station. In his complaint he said that Karuppasamy, 49, has abducted his 17 year old daughter. Karruppusamy issurvived by his wife and two sons.
Based on the complaint, the Anaimalai police have filed a kidnapping case against Karuppasamy under section 366A and are on the lookout for him
