According to police, Milton Raj (39), son of Dixon, North Housing Unit, Selvapuram, Coimbatore, had rented a godown for Rs. 8100.
Following this, the police led by Vadavalli Police Sub-Inspector Ramachandran conducted a search at midnight. At that time, it was revealed that 7 tons of ration rice bundles were stored in the godown. They immediately confiscated the ration rice bundles and confiscated Milton Raj (39), his accomplice Murugappani (39) from Vedapatti who was involved in the ration rice smuggling, and 2 motorcycles used for the smuggling.
Following that, the ration rice and the culprits were handed over to the Civil Supplies Unit police.
Police requested those who rent out godowns to be careful of what business they are renting to.
