Coimbatore: A youth in Coimbatore was arrested today for jewellery theft. Police arrested him after he broke into a house near Coimbatore when no one was at home and stole four and a half sovereigns of jewelry from the wardrobe.
Coimbatore: A youth in Coimbatore was arrested today for jewellery theft. Police arrested him after he broke into a house near Coimbatore when no one was at home and stole four and a half sovereigns of jewelry from the wardrobe.
K. K. Thiagarajan is a private employee from Pudur,Dr. Radhakrishnan Street, Coimbatore. His wife, Kalaivani (31), has tied up her 4 soverign gold chains at her home wardrobe on the 6th. Day before yesterday when she opened the wardrobe to put on the jewellery, it was missing.
It was found that unidentified people had stolen the jewellery when no one was at home. Shocked by this, Kalaivani lodged a complaint with the Saibaba Colony Police. The police filed a case and searched for the culprit. Suspicious looking Santoshkumar, 29, of Ganapathy CM Nagar at the time, was standing near Saibaba Colony. When he was arrested and interrogated by the police it was revealed that he was involved in various theft incidents and also admitted to stealing from Kalaivani's house. He was booked under Section 379 and remanded in custody.
