From here on there is no setback for BJP in Tamil Nadu, we look forward to only progress: BJP National Women's Wing President Vanathi Srinivasan

Coimbatore: Vanathi Srinivasan of BJP returned to Coimbatore by air today for the first time after taking charge as the National Women's Wing President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi. Speaking to the reporters at the airport she said that the BJP has given Tamil Nadu the most important honor by making her the women's wing leader and said this is the first time in South India that Tamil Nadu has been given this opportunity. She said their main task will be to take the programs of the Central Government through women.

She added that “the central government gives priority to helping women at all levels and it was their aim to take it to the people that the Prime Minister is the protector of women across the country. State President Murugan is conducting a Vel Yatra for political change in Tamil Nadu. They see the BJP rule in Tamil Nadu as the change and reassured that BJP is in the AIADMK alliance and there was no change in it with the AIADMK at the head.”

Every party expects to form a government.

She reiterated that every party in Tamilnadu expects to form a government on it’s own. When asked about the reaction of AIADMK's "Namadhu Amma" newspaper to Vanathi Srinivasan's comment, she said that “the BJP was not afraid of anyone and added that (AIADMK) did not understand what she tried to say.” She clarified that she said that Vel Yathrai was carried out legally and that blocking the rally would have repercussions among the people. Women look up to the Prime Minister as a hero and the party leadership would formally announce the constituency agreements in the alliance.

She added that the Vel Yathrai is a symbolic pilgrimage aimed at exposing those who slander Hindus. She further added that the BJP no longer has a setback in Tamil Nadu and looks forward only to progress. The airport area was congested for some time due to the large number of volunteers who assembled to welcome the newly appointed leader.
