Coimbatore: A laptop was stolen from a youth while he dozed off. Ranjith Kumar (20) from Rasipuram, Namakkal district, is staying in Chennai and working in an IT company there.

He arrived in Coimbatore by train from Chennai yesterday to attend an interview with a company in Coimbatore. He traveled by train and fell asleep. Thus, Ranjith Kumar, who had to land in Coimbatore, landed at Mettupalayam.
When he got down and checked his belongings, it was revealed that the bag containing his laptop was missing. Shocked, Ranjith Kumar came back to the Coimbatore railway station and lodged a complaint with the Railway Police. Based on his complaint, the police filed a case and conducted an intensive search at the train station. At the time, a young man on the second platform was walking around suspiciously. Seeing this, the police rushed to the spot and interrogated the young man.
The investigation revealed that he was Sureshkumar (24) from Peelamedu and working as a carpenter. He admitted to stealing Ranjith Kumar's bag. The police arrested him under Section 379 and imprisoned him in the Avinashi Sub-Jail. Also, the stolen laptop was confiscated.
