Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) will help Indian Apparel Sector to witness rapid growth in Exports

The initiative taken by the central government to provide Production Linked Incentive has been welcomed by the Textile industrialists. In order to boost domestic manufacturing sector in the country, the Central government today approved Rs 2 lakh crores Production Linked Investment (PLI) scheme for 10 sectors.

In order to boost domestic manufacturing sector in the country, the Central government today approved Rs 2 lakh crores Production Linked Investment (PLI) scheme for 10 sectors.

Industrialists from Coimbatore have welcomed this initiative and said that this will help all the ten sectors to witness a rapid growth.

Indian Cotton Federation (ICF) President, J Thulasidharan said, "This initiative will support to boost Indian exports. Especially they have clearly identified the sectors properly which are weak and needed more importance to boost up. Hence on behalf of ICF we whole heartedly welcome this initiative."

Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF) conveynor D.Prabhu said, "This PLI scheme will help Indian Apparel sector to build the much needed Scale. It will also bring specialisation as a strategy to garner focus on top MMF products which are in great demand globally. MMF Apparels is a Rs 3 lakh Crores opportunity in US market alone. We are confident that Indian Apparel sector will use this opportunity to build capabilities in MMF sector to achieve double digit growth in exports."
