In the Samikkavundanpalayam area near Palladam in Tirupur district, villagers observed the village tradition of donkey marriage and worship for rain.



The rituals observed in human marriages such as recitals of mantras were held.

They said that such a worship was held in the village 27 years ago and now due to the lack of rain, it was done once again for agriculture and livestock to prosper.
