Coimbatore: Motorists suffered due to traffic congestion in the area due to a broken water pipe on Nanjappa Road in Coimbatore.

The Siruvani drinking water pipe near the Anupparpalayam School in the Nanjappa road area of Coimbatore broke and flooded the area. As a result, motorists were inconvenienced at Avinashi Road Flyover, Kattur and other areas.

Following this, the police and the corporation officials diverted the traffic by putting temporary barriers on Avinashi Road from Park Gate. Repair of the broken water pipe is in progress.

The water from the broken pipe that stagnated under the Avinashi flyover was cleared using motor pumps.

Following this, traffic normalized and vehicles were allowed under the flyover. Traffic was disrupted for about two hours due to the broken pipe.
