Tirupur: Youth drowns to death in Noyyal River near Tirupur: Relatives allege foul play


Tirupur: Relatives allege that death of a youth who drowned in Noyyal River is suspicious. Logarathinam (27) from Ooty is a construction worker staying in Mangalam area of Tirupur.

It has been a few weeks since he came to Tirupur and since it was a holiday yesterday, he and his friends went to the Noyyal river bank in the Mangalam area for a drink.



Logarathinam is said to have slipped and fell into the river and drowned. Mangalam police recovered his body today and sent it to Palladam Government Hospital for autopsy. Police are investigating 5 people including his friends Vinod, Raja, Subhash and Manikkavel Raja who went to drink alcohol with Logarathinam.

In this situation, the relatives of the deceased youngster had an argument with the police at the Palladam Government Hospital that his death was a suspicious one and that a proper investigation should be conducted.
