Coimbatore: CDIIC is all set to sign MOU with '5 Base Repair Depot,' 'Air Force' and 'Naval Ship Repair Yard,' Kochi on November 28.

CODISSIA Defense Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre (CDIIC) President, R. Ramamurthy in a press release has said, "The 'CODISSIA' Defence Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre (CDIIC) is India’s first Defence Innovation Centre, which is a combination of Defence Innovation Centre and Atal Incubation Centre. We are proud and happy to mention that this is the first Atal Incubation Centre awarded to an Industrial Body. This Centre which is a subsidiary of CODISSIA will be a key contributor in the Southern Defence Corridor.

In order to kick start the activities of the Southern Defence Corridor in an effort towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat, CDIIC is signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with 5 Base Repair Depot, Air Force and Naval Ship Repair Yard, Kochi for indigenisation of their components and products. The Defence Secretary, Government of India, Dr. Ajay Kumar, IAS has kindly consented to chair this meeting via virtual link at 03.00 PM on Wednesday, 28th Oct 2020. The event will be streamed online at https://bit.ly/3kce4Er. There will be a Panel Discussion and Question-Answer session to create more awareness amid the MSMEs of the entire nation in general and those in the Southern Defence Corridor in particular.

To facilitate ease of doing business, and to create a Single Window System for exchange of information about the requirements of the various DPSUs, OFs, DRDO and the three Services, a Facilitation Cell has been set up at CODISSIA, manned by a Nodal Officer from the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA).

Through the Atal Incubation Centre, CDIIC has endeavoured to handhold a minimum of 10 Incubatees and ensure that at least 5 Incubatees graduate every year from the 2nd year onwards. Many budding and existing entrepreneurs with bright ideas shall be mentored and guided towards succeeding in their projects, which will both be towards domestic as well as defence requirements.
