Coimbatore: Two persons have been arrested and jailed for selling cannabis at the burial ground area in Thadagam near Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: Two persons have been arrested and jailed for selling cannabis at the burial ground area in Thadagam near Coimbatore.

A team comprising Inspector Balamuralisundaram, Sub Inspector Ponraj, Special Sub Inspectors Sivaraj and Arumugam and special team constables that was on patrol saw two youngsters on a two-wheeler with Kerala registration number in the area where the burial ground is located within the limits of the Thadagam police station.

The police conducted an intense enquiry of the suspects and found them giving contradictory answers back and forth. Then, it was found that they had hidden about two kilos of cannabis for sale. The two were identified as Pandian (A) Karuppusamy (31) and Arvind (19) from Kottathurai in Kerala.

Following this, the police confiscated the cannabis from them, registered a case against the two, produced them before a judge and remanded them in custody.
