Tirupur: Tirupur Hindu Munnani protests by tearing up Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi chief Thirumavalavan's portrait
Tirupur:Kadeshwara Subramaniam, state president of the Tirupur Hindu Munnani, led a protest near the Kumaran statue against Viduthalai Siruthaigal Tamil Nadu leader Thirumavalavan alleging he has belittled Hindu women.
They said he has made a false impression that women are depicted vulgarly in Hindu scriptures. Kadeshwara Subramaniam said Thirumavalavan has offended the Hindu religion in a manner of disrupting public peace. Slogans were raised at the protest demanding action against Thirumavalavan.
Also, protesters tried to tear a portrait of Thirumavalavan. However, they were stopped by police who were on security duty. This caused a stir in the area.
