Coimbatore: Hindu Annaiyar Munnani Amaippu lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police seeking action against Viduthalai Siruthaigal leader Thirumavalavan for insulting women.
Viduthalai Siruthaigal leader Thirumavalavan spoke on the Periyar YouTube blog about what Manudharma speaks about women. The BJP and pro-Hindu organizations have been protesting that Thirumavalavan has insulted women by saying things that are not in Hindu Dharma. A complaint was lodged at the Coimbatore Police Commissioner's Office today on behalf of the Hindu Annaiyar Munnani Amaippu which is the women's wing of the Hindu Munnani.
Members of the organization said that if the police does not take action on the complaint lodged against Thirumavalavan immediately, they would stage a large-scale protest. They also demanded that Thirumavalavan should publicly apologize for his misdemeanour.
