Transwoman Sangeetha murder: Drum in which her body was dumped filled with salt to prevent stench

Coimbatore: Transgender Sangeetha, who lived on NSR Road at Saibaba Colony in Coimbatore, recently started a restaurant called Trans Kitchen in North Coimbatore for the development of transgender people.

She was found dead yesterday and her decomposing body was found stuffed in a drum with cuts yesterday.

Police have registered a case in this regard and have set up three special teams to investigate. In the first phase, the police have been inspecting the CCTV footage in the area and have been investigating the persons who have been roaming the area since the 18th. They are also scrutinizing Sangeetha's call records and the visitors to her home and restaurant.



Sangeetha was strangled to death and her body was placed in a plastic drum. The drum was also stuffed with salt to prevent stench which has added suspicion. Police are investigating the angles whether the murder was committed for gain or because of business competition. They are also investigating wheheter any gang has the MO of stuffing salt on the body of the murdered person.
