16-year-old Coimbatore boy injures man with a butcher's knife

Coimbatore: A man who questioned the owner of a dog that behaved in a threatening manner was attacked and injured with a butcher's knife by the latter's 16-year-old son.


Coimbatore: A man who questioned the owner of a dog that behaved in a threatening manner was attacked and injured with a butcher's knife by the latter's 16-year-old son.

Janardhan lives with his family in Alandurai near Coimbatore. A relative who lives near Janardhan's house, who runs a poultry shop has a dog that barked vociferously and behaved in a threatening manner towards him and his family. An annoyed Janardhan complained about the dog to his relative. This led to an argument between the two. The 16-year-old son of the dog's owner was enraged by this and attacked Janardhan with a knife on his head.

Janardhan was seriously injured and fell unconscious on the spot in a pool of blood. On seeing this, people nearby rushed him to a private hospital for treatment.

Later, Alandurai police arrested the 16-year-old boy based on a complaint lodged by Janardhan. The police produced the boy in court and admitted him to the Juvenile Correctional Home in Coimbatore.
