Coimbatore: 42 special ultra deluxe buses are planned to be operated from Coimbatore for the first phase of the Deepavali festival, told District State Express Transport Corporation officials, here, on Monday.
As Deepavali festival is set to be celebrated across the country on November 14. Large number of public would throng bus and railway stations to leave to their hometowns. Due to Covid restrictions, it is speculated that movement of people will see a dip, this year.
In a bid to help passengers plan ahead of the festival season, the SETC district officials have informed that 42 ultra deluxe buses will be operated from Coimbatore to multiple places in the state.
Commenting on this, an official of the State Express Transport Corporation in Coimbatore said, "On behalf of the State Express Transport Corporation, 42 ultra deluxe buses buses will be operated from Coimbatore to various places including Chennai, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Kumbakonam, Kanyakumari, Hosur and Dharmapuri for the first phase of Deepavali."
He told that bookings have already begun and based on response, additional buses will be added in the next phase.
