Singanallur police rescue abandoned newborn baby girl near trash can; public laud

Coimbatore: A five-day-old baby girl was rescued by the police near a trash bin behind Singanallur bus stand in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: A five-day-old baby girl was rescued by the police near a trash bin behind Singanallur bus stand in Coimbatore.

According to reports, the cops from Singanallur police station were engaged in patrolling to create Covid awareness among public. While they had stationed their vehicle near Singanallur bus stand, the cops heard the cries of a baby behind a trash can.

Shockingly, they found a newborn baby girl in an abandoned state. Immediately, they informed the police station and called the women nearby to handle the baby. Later, the cops called a 108 ambulance and shifted the baby to Coimbatore GH for neonatal care.

Police are investigating to find the whereabouts of the parents who abandoned the baby girl. Meanwhile, public in the area were in all praise for the cops whose timely rescue saved the newborn.
