The state witnessed 4,389 fresh Covid-19 cases on today. This brings the total tally up to 6,79,191, the state media bulletin confirmed.
The death toll in the state touched 10,529, with 57 more deaths being reported, the State media bulletin confirmed.
Tamil Nadu’s capital has been the worst affected district in the state and the cases remained stagnant with 1,140 cases being reported on Friday. The other districts to report more cases were Coimbatore (387), Chengalpattu (261) and Salem (244).
As many as 5,245 people recovered from the infection today, and the total recoveries now stand at 6,27,703.
