The police team headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police are investigating.
Residents informed the police station following stench emanating from a vehicle parked for a number of days in the car parking at ATC in Ooty. Following this, when the jeep was opened, the body of a 35-year-old man was found dead with serious head injuries.
Police retrieved the body and took it to Ooty Government Hospital for an autopsy. Initial investigations revealed that he was Siva from Ooty Kandhal area. Police are continuing to investigate how he got here and how he died.
