Coimbatore: Father stabs man in Coimbatore who harassed his married daughter.
Selvakumar (48), a native of Coimbatore, is working as a labourer. Veerasami (24) has been in love Selvakumar's daughter for a while. He has often expressed his love and stalked the woman even after her denial. Four years ago, Veerasamy went to the woman's house to ask her hand in marriage, but the girl's parents refused and married her off to someone else.
Enraged by this, Veerasamy often visited the place where she lives and created problems. The girl's father Selvakumar, who came to know about this, met Veerasamy who was at the Chettipalayam bus stand yesterday and asked him about his frequent visits to a married woman's house.
This led to an argument between the two. Selvakumar got angry and stabbed Veerasamy in the neck and arm with a knife he had hidden. Those nearby were shocked to see this and rescued Veerasamy and sent him to the government hospital for treatment.
The Chettipalayam police arrested Selvakumar and remanded him in the Avinashi sub jail based on a complaint lodged by Veerasamy.
