Coimbatore: The temple administration has announced that the Anaimalai Masaniamman Temple will not be open on coming Amavasai, the October 16th.


Coimbatore: The temple administration has announced that the Anaimalai Masaniamman Temple will not be open on coming Amavasai, the October 16th.

The Anaimalai Masaniamman Temple near Pollachi is visited by several devotees not only locals but also from various districts and other states including Kerala on Amavasai and Fridays.

The Masaniamman Temple, which was closed in March due to a coronavirus infection has been opening since September with various restrictions in place. One among it was that the devotees were not allowed to bring any pooja items for worship.

As Amavasai falls on the 16th, the temple administration has announced that the temple will not be open for devotees for worship. They also added that the devotees will be allowed as usual from 6am-8a. The devotees are asked to wear face masks and observe social distancing.
