Awareness campaigns are carried out on behalf of the Corporation of Coimbatore and as part of this programmes are being conducted at various places in Coimbatore on behalf of the police department. As part of this, dancers from Edayarpalayam, Thudiyalur and Kavundampalayam, within the limits of the Thudiyalur police station, conducted a coronavirus awareness program for the benefit of the public.
The event was held near the Thudiyalur bus stand and the dancers dressed up like Lord Ganesh, Bear and Coronavirus danced and sang to create awareness on COVID-19. In the middle of the show, a karakattam show was also held. The artists mimicked the voices of different actors and spread awareness about COVID-19. In between the event, the Narikuravar tribals created awareness among the public through their traditional dance.
The cops and members of the public then took pledges to wear faces mask to protect themselves from coronavirus, to wash their hands frequently, and to adhere to social distancing.
