Coimbatore: To control the spread of the coronavirus, the corporation officials have appealed that air conditioners not be used in shopping malls and shops in the areas under the Coimbatore Corporation.

Due to the preventive measures taken by the district administration and the corporation administration in Coimbatore, the impact of coronavirus is now gradually declining. Intensive disease prevention efforts are being carried out on behalf of the Corporation administration to further reduce this. An official with the Corporation said, "It is advised not to use air conditioners at the shops in the Corporation areas as the coronavirus usually survives in cold conditions for a long time."

He also said that stores should use a fan instead of an air conditioner. Shopkeepers are advised to keep their buildings ventilated.
