Coimbatore: Youngster who refused to part with money when a few persons demanded it was stabbed at bar in Coimbatore.
Gunasekaran alias Karuna (24) is from Musiri area in Trichy district. He stays in the Eachanari area of Coimbatore and does construction work. He bought a new cell phone with the salary he received yesterday and later went to the TASMAC store in the Eachanari area to have a drink.
Two youths who were there asked Gunasekaran to give them money for drinking but he refused to part with the money and tried to leave. The two youngsters then alerted their friends who caught Gunasekaran at the entrance. They then stabbed him and snatched his cellphone and Rs. 2000 and fled. People in the area informed the Podanur police about this who arrived at the scene and rushed Gunasekaran to the government hospital for treatment.
Following this, police led by Inspector Sivakumar arrested 5 persons who were hiding in the Eachanari area. Investigation revealed that they are Praveen (20) from Eachanari, Thennarasu (20) from Podanur, Mahesh Raj (21) from Srinivasa Nagar and Hariharan and Sivapandi from Ganesapuram. Police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations.
