Murugampalayam belongs to the 57th ward of Tirupur. More than 300 locals protested in front of the collector's office, demanding the removal of the existing four TASMAC shops and the removal of a new one in the locality.
The petition states that there are 4 temples in the vicinity of the newly located TASMAC store and 3 government and private schools are functioning. They also protested that the outlet is causing great inconvenience to women visiting the temple and school students. Hence a complaint was lodged with the Collector on behalf of the public urging the immediate removal of the store.
