Coimbatore: Two arrested in connection with chain snatching from an elderly woman near Pollachi
Coimbatore: Two persons have been arrested for snatching a chain from an elderly woman who was alone at Thottathu Road in Komangalam near Pollachi. The elderly woman Eswari hails from Komangalam near Pollachi. She was alone at her residence on Thottathu Road yesterday. Two unidentified men who went there snatched a 3 sovereign chain from the woman and fled.
Later, Eswari lodged a complaint at the Komangalam police station. Following this, the police registered a case and were on the lookout for the culprits. Under the circumstances, police detainedLingaboopathy and Senthilkumar from Chettipalayam who were seen moving about suspiciously during a police patrol. Interrogation revealed it was the duo who snatched Eswari's chain.
The police then confiscated the chain, filed a case against the two and remanded them into custody.
