Newly-wed couple suicide in tea estate in Solur: Police investigates

The Nilgiris: Newly-wed couple kill themselves in Sholur near Ooty



The Nilgiris: RDO inquiry has been ordered into the suicide of a newlywed couple who were working in a tea estate in the Sholur area near Ooty. Dayanandan (31) from the Melur Hosatty area near Ooty is married to Vinodhini (22). The couple got married last May. Both of them were working in a private tea estate in the area.



Colleagues knocked on the door of Dayanandan's house, early in the morning, upon suspicion that the door had not been opened for a long time. As there was no response, they broke open the door and went inside. They found the two dead and informed the estate management.



A case was registered at the Putdumanthu police station and the police conducted an investigation. The bodies of the two were sent to the Ooty Government Hospital for autopsy. Police said that the cause of death of the two victims is not known. RDO enquiry has been ordered in this regard as they have been married less than 6 months.
