Man trying to steal cell phone caught red handed in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A person who tried to steal the cell phone was caught in Coimbatore and handed over to the police.

Thangaraj (40) is a resident of Ratnagiri Street, Vilankurichi, Coimbatore. He is working in a private company. He was charging his cell phone near the window yesterday morning and talking to his friend. A person who came in a two-wheeler then pretended to inquire about an address and suddenly lifted Thangaraj's cell phone and tried to escape.

A shocked Thangaraj caught the youthwith the help of his friend and handed him over to the Kovilpalayam police station. Police investigation revealed that he was Surya (22) from Peelamedu Gandhimanagar area and was working as an acting driver. Following this, the police registered a case against him, produced him in court and remanded him into custody.
