They said the Labour Welfare Board has been paralyzed since March following a nationwide curfew in March to curb the spread of the corona. After lockdown relaxations were announced, facilities to renew memberships and apply for new ones were made online, but there are many glitches in the process.
Under the circumstances, AITUC Building Workers' Union staged a protest in front of the Tirupur Labour Welfare Board office, insisting on various demands, including the need to provide proper relief assistance to all workers registered with the Labor Welfare Board and problems in online procedures for Labour Welfare Board membership should be rectified.
