Tirupur: Shiv Sena activists blocked two lorries on the National Highway near Chengappally which was transporting cattle from the northern states to Kottayam and Kochi in Kerala for butchering.
Tirupur: Shiv Sena activists blocked two lorries on the National Highway near Chengappally which was transporting cattle from the northern states to Kottayam and Kochi in Kerala for butchering.
Uthukkuli and Perumanallur police arrived at the scene and carried out an investigation. The investigation revealed that one of the lorries had 29 cows from Andhra Pradesh and the other one was carrying 38 cows from Haryana.
Following this, the police confiscated the vehicle and took it to the Perumanallur police station. Both lorry drivers have been booked under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and are being investigated.
