Coimbatore: Increase in flight operations and new flight operation announced by Indigo airlines between Coimbatore - Ahmedabad and Coimbatore - Pune routes has brought much cheer among the passengers, here.
With the recent Covid-19 relaxations domestic flight operations at Coimbatore Airport continues to witness a steady increase. On an average, 12 to 19 flights are operated, every day.
Paying heed to the repeated requests of air passengers from Coimbatore, to commence service between Ahmedabad and Pune, the Indigo airlines has now officially announced to start its services to the above mentioned destinations from October 26, onwards.
The flight will depart from Pune at 9:10 AM and reach Coimbatore at 10:50 AM. In its return journey, the flight will leave Coimbatore at 11:20 AM and would reach Pune at 3:05 PM. The flight will reach Chennai at 12:25 PM and from Chennai it will leave at 1:20 PM and reach Pune at 3:05 PM.
The flight would have 55 minutes lay over in Chennai but deboarding aircraft may not be allowed, which is to be noted.
In the other service as per the schedule, the flight would leave Ahmedabad at 6:45 AM and reach Coimbatore at 9:05 AM. And, the flight would leave Coimbatore at 9:40 AM and reach Ahmedabad at 12: 05 PM. Again, it would depart from Ahmedabad at 12:55 PM and arrive to Coimbatore at 5:00 PM.
Both the above said services will start from October 26, onwards. Commenting on the new flight service,the airport officials said, "Flight operations is steadily progressing with operation of 12 to 19 flights at Coimbatore Airport. With new services introduced by the airlines, soon we can expect daily flight operations to increase upto 20."
