Coimbatore: Rs 13.65 crore worth of liquor wassold in Coimbatore on October 1. Coimbatore district has 156 stores under the control of Tasmac North Zone and 135 stores under the control of South Zone.
Since liquor sales were banned across the district yesterday in honor of Gandhi Jayanti, it was high in all liquor stores across the district on October 1. Liquor was sold for Rs 7 crore 31 lakh in the shops under the north zone and Rs 6 crore 34 lakh under the south zone. In total, liquor worth 13 crore 65 lakh was sold.
All Tasmac outlets remained closed yesterday.
