The Nilgiris: A gigantic Indian Gaur that strayed into a residential area in Coonoor gave a scare to a girl who tried a selfie with it.

Due to heavy rains in the last few days in the Nilgiris district, the grass in the vicinity of houses in Coonoor urban areas is overgrown and lush.

Under the circumstances, a large Indian Gaur from the nearby forest entered the Coonoor Kamarajapuram residential area to eat the grass.

When a student tried to take a selfie with the Indian Gaur out of curiosity, the animal frantically tried to attack her, causing a commotion in the area.

The animal was roaming around for about 2 hours in the area and then entered the nearby municipal waste disposal center and went away.

People in the area complain that it is customary for the animal to enter the residential areas often. As a Farmer's Market is located in the vicinity, a lot of people visit the area to purchase vegetables. Therefore, people have requested that the Indian Gaur be driven into dense forests before anything untoward happens.
