Tirupur: Tipper lorry owners and drivers request temporary sand quarries be opened in Tirupur District


Tirupur: Tipper lorry drivers and owners in Tirupur have filed a petition with the District Collector requesting permission to set up a temporary sand quarries in Tirupur district for sand mining.



Since lockdown has been in place for the past few months to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, sand mining and gravel transport was suspended. This has affected the lives of Tipper lorry owners and drivers.



Under the circumstances, they filed a petition with the Tirupur District Collector's Office requesting that the district administration set up temporary taluka-wise sand quarries to protect their livelihoods.
