CM revokes order to re-open schools in Tamil Nadu from Oct 1

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy has revoked the announcement of re-opening schools for std 10 to 12 from October 1 onwards.


Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy has revoked the announcement of re-opening schools for std 10 to 12 from October 1 onwards.

The decision drew strong criticism from parents, public and opposition parties who expressed concern due to the increasing COVID cases in TN.

Earlier, the state government had announced that students belonging to class 10th, 11th and 12th can go to schools from October 1 onwards to clear doubts on subjects. A list of Covid protocol for safety were also issued for schools and students.

The order has now been revoked, hence schools will remain closed until further notice.
