The couple Franklin Britto (35) and Carolyn (31) are from Thirumal Street near Coimbatore Variety Hall. Franklin Britto was in a private company in Coimbatore, for the past year and a half.
Carolyn took her husband who was injured on his neck and abdomen last night to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. Doctors who examined Franklin said he was dead on arrival and alerted the police due to the injuries found on his body.
Carolyn told the police that Brito had been receiving treatment for illness for the past two years and she accidentally stabbed Brito in the neck when she turned after chopping vegetables.
Police who were suspicious about her statement grilled her further and found that Carloyn and her husband had a dispute over her jewellery that he had pawned and that Carolyn stabbed Brito with a knife causing him to die. Variety Hall police arrested Carolyn and are investigating the matter. The incident has caused quite a stir.
